Our Story

Originally built as a medieval watchtower in the 12th century, the estate has witnessed hundreds of years of transformation. Later owned by the noble Squarcialupi family and used as a hunting lodge, it eventually became a working agricultural property before being lovingly restored by the Boomsma family in 2023. Today, Fattoria di Vegi blends its historic roots with a vision for thoughtful hospitality. There’s a natural stillness to life at Fattoria di Vegi. Days unfold at their own pace, slow mornings, long lunches, the quiet hum of the vines. It’s warm and unpretentious, with a sense of elegance that comes from restraint rather than formality. The atmosphere is easy, thoughtful, and deeply connected to the rhythms of the countryside.

The emblem of Fattoria di Vegi is drawn from the estate’s own history, inspired by an archival detail found etched into a stone lintel above one of the villa’s original entrances. This small symbol, once overlooked, became a quiet representation of everything the estate stands for: rootedness, craft, and timeless continuity. Reinterpreted with restraint and intention, the emblem reflects the architectural heritage of the property, a balance of strength and softness, symmetry and irregularity. It speaks not of branding, but of belonging: a mark that connects past and present, just as the estate itself bridges tradition and modern hospitality. Like everything at Vegi, it’s not loud, but it lasts.

About the Estate

Fattoria di Vegi is more than a hotel, it is an agricultural estate with a long and layered history. What began as a 12th-century watchtower has evolved into a place where slow living and quiet luxury come together. Our grounds offer space to explore, space to connect, and space to be still. Wake to the sound of rustling olive trees. Walk to the Orto to see what’s growing that day. Wander the cypress-lined paths with a glass of wine in hand. Or take part in one of the many experiences that make time here unforgettable.

Eat & Drink

At Fattoria di Vegi, food and wine are at the heart of the experience, not just on the plate, but in the land, the seasons, and the stories behind every ingredient.

Our restaurant, located in the old Cantina, serves breakfast for guests each morning and transforms into a relaxed yet refined space for lunch and dinner throughout the day. The menu is seasonal, simple, and rooted in regional tradition, handmade pastas, garden vegetables, and house-baked breads paired with our estate wines.

Our Wines & More

Wine is at the heart of Fattoria di Vegi, not just as something to drink, but as a reflection of the land, the climate, and the care that goes into every bottle. Our vineyards stretch across the hillsides surrounding the estate, tended by hand and harvested in rhythm with the seasons.
